History

In 1946, Eduard PAYER started a company with the intention of developing the world’s best shavers for men. His quest for distinction was reflected in his choice of the company’s location: Castle Sonnegg, surrounded by vine-yards, in St. Bartholomae near Graz.

The headquarters, technology and competence centre of the PAYER Group is located here. Industrial locations have been built up in Ajka (Hungary) and in Suzhou (China) near Shanghai. Between the 1990s and 2002, the company was a subsidiary of the Philips Group. Since 2002, the PAYER Group has been owned by an Asian financial investor. With constant product development, innovation and the use of industrial competencies of the highest quality, this shaver specialist has evolved to become a company with a wide range of personal care products and provider of industrial solutions.

While 500,000 men‘s shavers were sold at the beginning of the ‘90s, there are now nearby 10 million personal care products and industrial solutions being brought out onto the market. This success story will continue into years to come.
